Dear Volunteer:
I hope this letter finds you well. Thank you in advance for your interest in serving as a volunteer for the AT&T Classic 2008 and our designated charity, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. I am the Chairperson of the Clubhouse Committee and need approximately 50 volunteers. The Clubhouse Committee for the AT&T Classic ensures a credentialed-only environment for players, tournament officials, and VIP guests.
Specifically, the Clubhouse Committee:
- Greets and welcomes guests to the Sugarloaf Country Club clubhouse
- Verifies credentials for access
- Provides information / directions to specific areas of the clubhouse
A few other specifics:
- The tournament requires a 3-day minimum commitment. Each day is divided into 2 shifts. One shift in a day satisfies the one day’s commitment.
- Uniform shirts are required and most volunteers purchase hats as well. This year’s cost is $30 for the shirt and $10 for the hat.
- Each volunteer receives two all-tournament passes, one for the volunteer and one for your guest. These passes allow you to go have fun and watch golf when you are not helping spectators!
- There will be a volunteer tent for us to gather, stay out of the rain, eat, whatever... (aka the “Marshal Compound”. Shelter is also provided in the Volunteer Parking lot and Clubhouse as needed.
- Lunches will available at the dining tent in the Marshal Compound to all volunteers. The cost is $5.00 per meal, and drinks are free.
- Hot breakfasts will be provided in the dining tent at the Marshal Compound from Wednesday through Sunday of the tournament. Cost is $5.00. Prior experience shows that these breakfasts are yummy!
For those new volunteers, we can provide whatever information you may need, and will send out more details regarding logistics, schedules, etc. as the tournament approaches. If you are new to PGA Tour events, please rest assured that we will provide you with the tools and training to do your job effectively from day one!
We should note that although you may be in close proximity to players and their families, that you should not interact with them other than a “welcome” unless spoken to first. Although most would appreciate your interest and support, they are working and usually prefer to concentrate on their game.

Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted for Uniform purchase.
For security reasons, volunteers using “volunteer parking” MUST BE IN UNIFORM with the proper credentials. For this reason, tournament officials strongly encourage all volunteers to purchase their uniform BEFORE their first scheduled day to work.
